FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR KITESURFING AND KITESURFING LESSONS
- DO I NEED ANY EXPERIENCE TO DO A KITE COURSE
- No, you do not need any previous experience to do a kitesurfing, kite buggy or kite mountain boarding course.
- ARE THERE ANY OTHER PREREQUISITS FOR DOING A KITESURFING COURSE
- We ask that those doing a water based course can swim confidently, even though bouyancy aids are provided.
- WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING ON THE DAY?
- We ask you to bring clothes suitable for the weather on the day, it is not always bright sunshine and 30 degrees at the beach unfortunately! The first part of any course is land based so you will need trainers without heels, and warm enough clothes for the morning. We ask that you bring a drink, a snack, sun protection and sun glasses.
- I'M SHORT / LONG SIGHTED, CAN I STILL KITESURF?
- We have alot of guys kitesurfing using contact lenses (including myself!) a couple of people do wear glasses with a strap but i tend to find they get hard to see out of because of the splashing on the lenses.
- WHAT DO I WEAR UNDER MY WETSUIT?
- You can just wear swim trunks or bikini.
- WHAT EQUIPMENT IS INCLUDED IN THE COURSE PRICE?
- We will provide everything else you need to do the course. This includes wetsuits, life jackets (bouyancy aids) helmets,kites, boards, harnesses, leashes, bar and lines and insurance. We don't include extra neoprene accessories such as gloves or boots but these can be bought in our shop on arrival.
- WHAT IF THERE IS NO WIND OR THE CONDITIONS AREN'T RIGHT?
- You call us the day before the course and we will check the wind conditions for you. If the conditions aren't right we won't waste your time, we just re-book you in for a different time.
- HOW DO I BOOK IN?

- I HAVE BEEN WAKEBOARDING/SKATEBOARDING/KITE BUGGYING/WATER SKIING/WINDSURFING FOR YEARS, CAN I JUST GRAB A KITE AND BOARD AND GO OUT?
- All these things will really help you as some aspects are similar, but kitesurfing has so many different parts to learn that a full course is needed, to learn about set up, flying of kites, self rescue, technique.... the list goes on!
- CAN I HIRE IF I REACH A GOOD ENOUGH LEVEL ON THE COURSE?
- Yes you can hire equipment to practice what you have learnt.
- SHOULD I GET 3RD PARTY INSURANCE?
- ABSOLUTELY YOU SHOULDN'T BE OUT RIDING WITHOUT IT
- HOW LONG ARE GIFT VOUCHERS VALID FOR?
- Generally 12 months, although we did extend some to 2 years during covid*, all vouchers must be used within the dates on the voucher, vouchers are non refundable.
- * Extended vouchers may not be exchanged for goods or other services.
- IS IT DANGEROUS? I HEARD SOME PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT ACCIDENTS ON THE JEREMY VINE SHOW?
- With the right tuition the injury rate in kitesurfing is extremely low, however kitesurfing is an extreme sport, the kites have the ability and are designed to pull, if the student doesn't do exactly what the instructor states the consequences can result in injury. Most of the accidents on the Jeremy vine show were people that had no experience or tuition and were flying power kites in completely unsuitable places, i.e. tops of mountains and cliffs!
- I REALLY WANT TO GET INTO IT, HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET SELF SUFFICIENT?
- We aim to get you to a self sufficient level on the 5 day course, however some people do take a bit longer than others.
- WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
- If the customer/ student cancels within 14 days of the course no refund is given. 14-28 days before there is an option to rescedule.
- WHAT IF THE CONDITIONS AREN'T RIGHT?
- We always ask the customer/ student to catch up the day before the course to check the forecast.
- WHAT IF IT'S RAINING?
- As long as the wind is good, rain doesn't matter too much, you'll get wet anyway!
- I WANT TO BUY KITESURFING EQUIPMENT AFTER MY COURSE
- That's fine we can tailor you a package to best suit your needs, we have a fully stocked shop.
- WHERE CAN I BUY KITESURFING EQUIPMENT IN LONDON?
- We ship worldwide, but we have the added advantage of being 2 minutes walk from the beach so we can help you set up your new kitesurfing gear.
- I WANT TO BOOK IN A HEN / STAG / CORPORATE PARTY, WHAT CAN YOU DO FOR US?
- We can sort after kiting parties if you give us enough notice, we can sometimes also give discount for larger groups. We can also advise you where to go out for meals, beer and partying.
- HOW LONG IS THE COURSE PER DAY?
- A typical day consists of at least 4 hours of tuition, but we say to allow at least 5 hours as most courses run over time.
- WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE FOR KITESURFING?
- Our minimum age is 12 years old but due to the size of young children the instructor or parent needs to be with them at all times; therefore we have a maximum of 2 children per instructor if under 16. For under 18s the parent also must be present during the lesson to supervise
- RETURNS OF GOODS
- Items must be unused and in original packaging, buyer pays for return postage. There may also be a handling/ restocking charge for bulky goods. Any costs incurred by the supplier will also be passed on to the customer.
- WARRANTY CLAIMS
- To be done within the specified period determined by the supplier. We will usually require the faulty item back to check for misuse.
