Maybe you have seen people kiteboarding on the sea, online or on holiday... you feel drawn to it... you feel like it is something you want to do. Lets do it!

1 Day: Learning to fly.
We start with a quick briefing including site assessment, then it's on to flying power kites! We use Flexifoil and Peter lynn trainer kites, they will really help you to get a good feel of controlling kites with control bar.
Once a reasonable level of control and confidence has been reached, we then move on to some small inflatable L.E.I (leading edge inflatable) kites and learn rigging, safety systems and launching and landing.
Then the wetsuits are put on and we hit the water for some body dragging (skidding along the water using the power of the kite).

The day includes setting up of kites, flying and confidence building (flying larger kites), safety and generally having a ball. Learn how to harness the power of the kite and utilise it to propel yourself through the water (body dragging)

2 Day: Becoming a Kitesurfer.
A quick recap and board theory, then it's on the water. We aim to turn you in to a self sufficient kite surfer!
We start the day by quickly recapping the key points of the previous kite surfing lesson, then you will set up your kites and get in to the water for a quick body dragging session. You will learn board retrieval technique whilst getting more comfortable and better skilled on the kite. Once you have a feel for the kite again we go through some board theory, rights of way and safety aspects, then its your turn to try some board starts!
We aim to hone your board start technique, so you can confidently dive the kite, generating the power needed to get up on the board.
On day 2 you will really start to gather all the aspects of kitesurfing together.

Throughout the day we will teach you kite etiquette, and give you the tips and tricks you need to become a REAL KITEBOARDER!!

Our kitesurfing lessons are held at Camber, East Sussex or Greatstone in Kent depending upon the wind direction. We meet in Camber to sign in and get kitted out with kites, boards, helmets and all the other gear we need for the day!

Please let us know if you need any medication on the course with you, i.e. insulin or ventolin. (this is also mentioned on our sign in form on arrival).

Stuff to bring;
-Warm clothes, it's not always short and t-shirt weather at the beach, in fact it's usually colder on the coast.
-Sun protection, don't burn! High factor waterproof sunscreen is recommended, as well as sunglasses for the land based part.
-Towel - good for drying off
-Wetsuit - we do lend wetsuits if you don't own one but it's 'nicer' to have your own, we sell them here so turn up early and try some on!
-Wetsuit accessories - optional in high summer, we don't lend gloves and boots (if you sniff a pair of used boots you'll know why! We sell them here in the shop from budget to premium.
-Any medication you might need - let us know if you are diabetic, have athsma, if you have had any recent surgery or if you have injuries that may affect your ability to do the course.
-Drink and snack - Stay fuelled.

I was so surprised how much fun it is to control a big kite!! By the end of the second day I was proficient at launching kites from land or water and controlling its power. It is most certainly a course that will give you an insight to the world of kite surfing and you will be itching for more.

I took a 2-day intro course to kitesurfing - first time I d ever done the sport - and had a fantastic time with Anthony and his team. It was a great experience, combining theory and practice - flying trainer kites, doing body drags in the water and - whoooa - feeling the power of the big kites! The groups were small and allowed for specific instructions and one-on-one time with the coaches, and the whole experience was super fun! Highly recommended for a great intro to a cool sport

what an adrenaline kick! i will definitely be taking up kitesurfing in a big way! on day 2 i got up on the board which was my ultimate goal. the instructor was patient and thorough and the kites were very user friendly. thanks camber kitesurfing!

May I start with saying what a brilliant weekend, the instructing was first class and the flying of the various kites and all that goes with it was fantastic. Please pass on my thanks to all involved. We had an amazing time during our two days kites surfing. We progressed quickly from flying power kites to the water where we learned to handle the bigger kites. We had excellent fun learning to body drag, the grins afterwards were massive. Attempts were made at getting onto the board, but no luck this time, maybe next time... A massive thanks to our instructor who was patient and encouraging to us both and made the days thoroughly enjoyable.
